Last weekend Anna, my 11 year old daughter, and I visited the Trade Days in a town just north of where we live. It was a beautiful day complete with the brightly shining sun. I remarked to Anna, "It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood!"
She sat there quietly and so I asked her if she knew who originally said that. She just looked at me quizzically. "No."
"Mr Rogers! Don't you remember Mr. Rogers?" I asked.
She looked thoughtful for a moment and then asked, "Does he go to our church?"
I laughed. "No silly, he was on TV." But then I began thinking. We didn't watch much television when the kids were little (we really don't now, but more than we did back then). And as I was thinking about it we DO have a Mr. Rogers at our church!
We had a great day walking in the bright sunshine. We paid a visit to all the puppies, a couple of llamas, and a bunch of chickens and ducks. We took some time to gawk at a sugar glider. I can't decide if I think they are cute or creepy. Best of all we found a pair of shutters which I was hoping to come across. It was a good day!
